2021 Virtual Walk/Run

Congratulations to the co-winners of the Oakbank Co-op’s cashiers’ fundraising competition. Cashiers there promoted the Andrew Dunn Foundation by selling donation cards to co-op patrons at customer checkouts. Thank you so much, Sydney and Megan and other competition participants, for your support of our 2021 Virtual Walk/Run. Your efforts are so much appreciated.

Walk, run, roller blade or ride 5K or 10K where you want and on the date and time of your choosing. If this were not a COVID-19 year, our Walk/Run would start on May 8, 2021, 11:00 AM at the One Insurance Arena. You are free to run our normal route if you like. We only ask that you follow current Manitoba COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.

Participate on your own or as part of a team.

Raise funds for the Andrew Dunn Foundation by encouraging friends, neighbours, and relatives to donate in your name (and your team’s name if applicable). The Andrew Dunn Foundation will issue Official CRA Tax Receipts for donations of $20 or more by email. We require the donor’s full name, address, phone number and accurate email address in order to issue a tax receipt.

After you finish your ‘virtual walk or run’, you and your supporters can enter donations in your name (and in the name of a team if applicable) to AndrewDunn.org using this “Make a Donation” button.

Please send us photos and comments from your own virtual event to info@andrewdunn.org. We would love to display your stories and photos on our website.

You can ask for pledges from your supporters by emailing or texting them the name of our website: www.AndrewDunn.org. Ask them to support you by donating using the Donate/Pledge button on this home page of the AndrewDunn.org website.

About AndrewDunn.org

Welcome to AndrewDunn.org, based in Manitoba, Canada. We are a grassroots organization consisting of people who not only understand how tough it can be to talk about depression and mental illness, but we also know how crucial it is to do so - let’s talk about it. If you or someone you know or love is having thoughts of suicide, please take them seriously and support them by finding professional help - now. Our “24 Hour Crisis Lines / Professional Help” button at the top of the page can guide you. Remember that you are not alone.

If you or a loved one struggles with depression and mental illness, we want you to know that you are not alone. We know it’s tough to talk about it, but we have to. Through awareness and education, we continue to fight the stigma that surrounds mental illness. We can support and connect with each other in order to shine a light of hope through the darkness. We believe that together, we can make a difference!

Join us at our Annual Andrew Dunn Walk/Run, collect pledges and register at the event. We would prefer that you take advantage of the online registration by utilizing the "Running Room Online Registration" button option on our Walk/Run page.

In our name, we remember a precious life that was lost to suicide. Andrew’s tragedy is a lesson for all of us. Suicide is a horrible loss and we need to do all that we can to prevent it. We need to talk about our illness and support each other.

We are not counsellors nor mental health experts. Our organization consists of individuals whose lives have been affected by depression, mental illness or suicide loss. We want people to work towards a successful recovery, connect with and support each other, and to know that they are not alone.

Together, we can fight depression and its stigma. Let’s talk about it. There is hope.
